It's the last week of 2010. Nearing the end and the working mood also ended already. Hahaha.... Tension betul ok. I have tonne of works awaiting to be completed and yet I am so not in the mood. Kind of blank like that. I hate this feeling I'm in. Macam mental block bila tengok keje tu. Kalau berpanjangan, entah bila la boleh siap kan. Padahal semua adalah urgent and penting ok. Aduhaiiiiii...........
Anyway, I ada satu kemusykilan di sini. It's about red velvet cake. I'm sure semua pun pernah dengar kan. Sana sini I baca review pasal red velvet cake ni. Siap ada batchmate yang menjual lagi. So out of curiosity, I teringin la nak merasa. Yelah kalau dah famous sangat tu mesti la sedap or special kan. The other day masa pegi lunch with Pn. Azura and her friend at a cafe inside UPM, I try la a few spoon of that cake, courtesy of her friend Pn. Yas. Biasa je. In fact tak sedap pun. Ok maybe sebab kat situ adalah cafe yang biasa aje (apprentice cafe if I'm not mistaken) maka rasanya adalah kureng. Tak pe nanti kita cuba lagi.
Last saturday semasa berdating dengan Hanim, I tried the cake again. Kali ni version cup cakes pulak dekat Coffee Bean. Since its Coffee Bean, I expect the cake would be better comparing to apprentice cafe la kan. I told Hanim about red velvet ni and she said she never heard of it. So marilah kita sama-sama mencuba. Thank God we only took one piece only. In fact it was the last one pun. Rasanya sama aje macam kat cafe apprentice tu. Tak sedap pun. To be honest, I tak tau pun kek tu rasa apa sebenarnya. Rasa macam ada benda masuk dalam mulut aje. Hehehe....When I asked the barista, he said actually red velvet ni adalah chocolate cake just that they use red velvet colour to make it looks lke that. Ye ke? I tak rasa pun any chocolatey taste when eating the cake.
So kemusykilan I ialah mengapa macam popular aje kek ini sedangkan rasanya adalah sangat biasa. In fact tak sedap pun to me. Ke I rasa tak sedap because I only like chocolate cakes? Ke sebab I belum jumpa lagi the good one. Hmmm ntah la. Tapi tu lah... I macam musykil aje. Abenda la yang sedap sangat this red velvet cake. Boleh tak sesiapa menerangkan how this cake should taste.
Kejap lagi Puan K nak bagi I her version of red velvet. So hopefully I can have real taste of red velvet. And if the taste is still the same maknanya memang itulah pun rasanya. Rasa yang tidak dapat dikenal pasti oleh my taste buds. Hahaha....

Hehe, sama lah taste buds kita. Aku dah tgk resipi red velvet, memang ada koko tapi aku x faham kenapa tak rasa coklat. Kalau setakat warna je merah, at least adalah rasa coklat??!
Kalau xde frosting cheese, aku rasa mesti macam kunyah udara je sebab serius aku xde rasa ape2. Rasa2 butter pun tidak.
Klau pernah mkn coklat smarties,rasa dia mcm tu la....

Coklat smarties sedap. Tapi kek ni macam tak rasa apa pun. Maybe nak kena cuba lagi kot. Cuba sampai jumoa yang betul-betul sedap.
