Gadget freak version Eny

Her entry inspired me to write one too. I guess I was like her too, a gadget freak. But I don’t actually go all the way to buy the latest stuff because sometimes I hardly used the all the function in that particular stuff.

Anyway, let me start off with hand phones. I bought my first hand phones in 2002 during my job hunting time. Yelah tak de phone nanti susah pulak orang nak call untuk interview ke apa ke. It was Nokia 3310. Siap korek duit ASB ok. Lama jugaklah I pakai this phone sebab memang sangat tahan lasak. Jatuh yang sampai berderai semua pun bila pasang balik ok je boleh guna. Tak de nak hang ke apa ke.

Then in 2005 or 2006, I decided to replace it with a camera phone so I bought Motorola E398. I love this phone coz the speaker was the best. In fact the best of all phone I ever had. The camera was good too. And I really like the rubbery texture of the body because for someone with sweaty palms, having a good grip meant a lot ok. (and that’s one of the reason I like Pilot pen).

In 2007, for my 29th birthday, I bought Motorola E6 pulak. Masa tu jalan-jalan kat MV and ternampak promo of this phone and terus terjatuh cinta. Mula-mula tu memang best lah pakai phone ni tapi lama-lama asyik hang aje. Eh tak la lama mana sangat pun. After few month aje if I’m not mistaken. Because of that phone pun, ada je benda jadi kat I sebab orang call tapi tak de ringing. Geram tau. Terkena keluar RM150 sebab terlepas lori la, terkena marah la, ter macam-macam lah.

Since I ada seorang kawan yang baik hati yang selalu mendengar my whining about the phone, I got to use her phone. She bought a new one so she gave me her old one but still in good condition. This time, it was O2 XDA II Mini. I like this phone but the camera was not good. And I can’t use the 3g function with it. So no MMS or checking email whatsoever with it. Tak boleh online tak pe lagi but no MMS? But my financial was so bad that buying new phone is out of question until recently.

I got some extra cash during my birthday so I decided to buy new phone. I’ve been surveying for new phone for quite sometime jugak lah tapi sebab tak de duit boleh usha ajelah. Bila dah ada baru serious decide. I want phone with good camera and affordable. Kalau ada GPS pun lagi bagus. Yang lain-lain tu tak kisah sangat. Lepas godek sana godek sini, I decided to buy SE C903. Tapi lepas beli terus menyesal ok. Hehehe…. The speaker was bad, there’s no video call camera, and to use the GPS function, kena bayar ok. Tak boleh nak install Garmin tu. Bengang betul.

Actually I macam minat nak beli BB tapi besides the price yang agak pricey, the data plan pun sangat mahal so memang not in my budget la. If you all nak tau, my phone bill normally between RM40-RM60 aje pun every month. Dulu masa pakai prepaid, top up RM100 memang tahan 3 bulan lah. Kadang-kadang berlebih lagi. Now that I pakai postpaid, family line pulak tu so laaaagilah jimat. Eh not really lah. PAkai bill lagi mahal dari pakai prepaid. Cuma yang bestnya boleh call Mak and Abah lama-lama and free. In fact dengan diorang aje pun I selalu cakap lama-lama. Kalau tengok dalam bill, my call dengan kawan-kawan tak sampai RM10 pun sometimes tu. Mahal kat SMS aje sampai RM20++ every month. Kalau pakai BB, data plan sampai beratus-ratus. Mau nangis I kalau kena bayar bill beratus-ratus ni. So setakat ni masih cuba untuk menyukai my new phone. Because I ni bukan lah kaya sangat kalau tak suka boleh terus tukar. Kena tunggu lah dulu kan.

Ok tu cerita pasal phone. Now pasal camera pulak. My 1st camera was Nikon Coolpix. I bought it in 2005 right before my sister’s wedding. It’s a cool camera. Gambarnya sangat cantik and amik video pun best. But in 2007, a friend dropped it during some passing around and terus gambar dia jadi blur. That was before DPA la. So masa awal-awal DPA dulu, I tak banyak gambar sebab tak de camera.

I bought the recent one just before pegi OBS. Jalan-jalan kat MV with my fellow sidangmate, nampak camera and terus beli., Tak de fikir-fikir dah. It’s a bit bulky but I like the zooming function. Nak beli SLR memang tak mampu la so settle down dengan in between aje. This time I beli Sony H3. Tapi I don’t like the video function sebab tak boleh zoom. Bengong betul. Nikon kecik I pun boleh zoom during video recording. Sekarang I dah start ada problem with this camera. Selalu tak boleh baca the memory card. Pastu a bit bulky so macam susah kalau nak bawak ke mana-mana. Yelah kalau ada fuction takkan nak bawak beg gabak kan. Adakah masanya telah tiba untuk membeli camera baru? Maybe not kot. Mo lui lor. Tapi akan dipertimbangkan dan dimasukkan ke dalam list angan-angan.

And finally on my laptop pulak. I never have any PC or laptop even during my student time. So somewhere in 2005 or early 2006, I bought my first laptop, a Compaq. Love every bit of it tapi a bit bulky and the battery can’t last long sebab guna AMD processor.

So in 2008, for my 30th birthday, I bought Asus F9E. Sangat mahal ok. I paid RM3,800 for it and yet, sangaaaat lembab. Maybe nak kena add RAM bagi laju sket. Processor dah ok tapi sebab RAM kecik so sangat la slownya. My Compaq lagi best. Pastu battery langusng tak boleh pakai sebab masa beli aritu I terlupa nak charge the battery and tak pernah pasang pun. Sekali bila nak guna dah kong terus. Nak beli battery baru dalam RM200++. Pastu ingat nak tambah RAM and reformat and tambah macam-macam lagi. Duit lagi....

Sekarang ni macam tengah usha ASUS Mini. Comel aje. Price dalam RM1,500 macam tu. Tapi kalau nak beli pun not in near future la kot. Banyak benda nak kena buat sebelum boleh splurge lagi dengan gadget-gadget ni. Lagipun baru-baru ni ada beli gadget yang sangat besar dan mahal. So kena bawak bertenang dulu. Gadget apakah itu? Tunggguuuu…………..
