I am fasting today. I had a hard time deciding on what to eat for iftar. Finally after work pegi Alamanda to stock up on some foods; bread, sosej, daging burger, salad, tomatoes, thousand island, potato wedges, nuggets and instant noodles. It's been quite a while since I last bought all these items. Well except for bread la kan. Bila dah beli baru terfikir; all these adalah processed foods and sangatlah tidak baik untuk kesihatan. Tsk.... konon nak jaga kesihatan la so thats why dah lama tak beli. Tapi sekali beli amik nak macam nak makan 10 orang je. Hahaha...... Hai entah bila zaman la nak habiskan semua tu?????
Pagi tadi macam dah terinsaf kejap. Tapi terlupa pulak bila membeli. Nak tau, this morning I went to one of our agency untuk buat penilaian lagi lah kan. So ada sorang pegawai yang sambut and bagi opening speech. Lepas tu diorang jemput makan breakfast. I katalah I puasa. That officer cakap dia pun puasa. Puasa 3in1; nak ganti balik puasa masa zaman nakal-nakal dulu, puasa sunat hari Isnin and puasa sebab tak buat dialisis lagi. Rupa-rupanya both his kidney dah damaged so every alternate days dia akan buat dialisis. Dia kata kalau buat dialisis tak boleh minum air banyak sebab diorang dah tak boleh nak buang air. So masa dialisis la diorang buang air. Kadang-kadang sampai 5 kilo. Ye dia sebut 5 kilo tadi and bukan 5 liter. I guess bila buat dialisis berat jadi kurang la kot. Pastu ada benda-benda yang diorang tak boleh makan sebab kidney dah tak boleh nak processed benda tu; mainly foods with phosphate kalau tak silap. Contohnya buah-buahan dan kekacang. Ok jap I google foods high in phosphate.

- Cordials/fruit syrup beverages
- Chocolate, lollies, sweets, candy, and anything else with a high citric acid and sugar content
- Ice-cream
- Skim milk powder (often added to processed foods)
- Biscuits, cookies, cakes from the supermarket
- Tomato ketchup
- Mayonnaise
- Fish fingers
- Processed cheese, especially soft cheese spread
- Frozen pizzas
- Hot dogs
- Processed meats
- Baking powder and self-raising flour often contains phosphate aerator
- All foods that list as an ingredient mineral salts, emulsifiers and lecithin.
- Egg yolks
- Milk
- Nuts
- Wheat germ
- Soybeans and their by-products
- Peas
- Beans
- Lentils
- Corn
- Mushrooms
- Oats
- Cocoa beans (chocolate)
- Sweet breads - liver, brains, kidneys
Erk...semuanya I suka makan. Lepas ni apa jelah yang boleh makan eh. That officer cakap kidney kita boleh rosak kalau ada diabetis, high blood pressure, kidney stone, kena sengat tebuan (tapi yang ni temporary je la) and ada lah few reason lagi. Fuh nampaknya I memang kena jaga my kidney elok-elok la sebab Abah kan ada diabetis. So I have high tendency untuk dapat juga. And my blood pressure memang already on the borderline since ages ago. Tak tau kenapa. Dah la kurang mium air. Walaupun the amount of plain water I drank adalah bertambah but still belum pada tahap yang recommended untuk daily intake.
Patutlah ignorance is bliss kan. Bila kita tak tau kita tak rasa apa. Tapi bila dah tau rasa risau aje. Nak makan apa-apa pun rasa macam takut je. Well kejap aje lah kot. Esok lusa belasah balik. Tau sangat dah Eny tu. Hehehe.... Tapi bagus jugak bila dah tau ni. At least boleh la beringat and boleh la amik precautionary act bila perlu. So kawan-kawan, jagalah kidney kita ye. Nanti rosak payah. Well bukan takat kidney ajelah tapi semualah yang ada kat badan ni. Jaga makan, jaga kesihatan, jaga perasaan, jaga semualah.
Tetibe rasa macam tak nak makan je semua yang dah beli tadi tu....... Tsk....
