We started the day with surprise call from Nasrol informing that we might have to start early coz the visit to plant site are being cancelled. We quickly pack our stuff, checked out and went to the event site. Nasrol and I straight away do the tagging thing whilst the agro team prepares the cert and stuff.
We were informed that the weather was a bit stormy at Kudat so the delegations were delayed. We did what we supposed to do and keep on waiting. As with all events before, the arrivals of many higher position officer at one go will always create havoc on seating arrangement coz people tend to sit with their friend. But it’s ok, nothing that can’t be solved right. As long we have enough chairs, we would try to accommodate for each request; but not the ridiculous one of course. Hehehe…
The weather became so hot later. Feel like catching heat stroke for we were under direct sunlight and not given drinking water at all. After speeches from few people, there was certificate given ceremony, press conference and lunch. We waited till everyone settle down at the dining tents and quickly rushed to the jetty. We didn’t take our lunch coz we need to catch the only ferry at the jetty and there are hundreds more people that will be on the same ferry after the event.
Luckily we were given permission to be the first to board the ferry so we can choose anywhere to sit. The journey home was quite adventurous for the sea was very rough. It felt like flying and crashing all the way. Imagine one hour of being bashing to the sea. Some people can’t stand it and nearly vomited. Alhamdulillah I’m not having any seasickness at all. We reached Kudat safe and sound around 3pm.
Everyone was so hungry so we stop by at one of the restaurant for a meal. Then went back to Kudat Marina where after taking shower, I immediately went to sleep. That night we went to the same restaurant for another sumptuous meal. I have never drink Ki Chai Peng (not sure how to spell it but it’s a sour plum juice or something) before but one sip at it, I immediately fell in love with the taste.
Next day we went off to Kota Marudu for another event. There would be few events at Kota Marudu, handover of houses and officiating a new road. Our first stop for that day was Marudu Inn because the VIP’s will have breakfast there. Settled with the prep at Marudu Inn, we went to the new house site. We did the tagging again and waited till all the VIP’s arrived and rushed to the new road site once the 1st VIP’s giving his/her speech.
Nothing much to do at the second site so we went off to the public field where a helicopter is waiting to take off. Took some photos there and keep on waiting. Finally when everything is ok (arrivals of few top bosses to send off the minister) we went back to Marudu Inn. While we were having quick meals there, minister and the delegation arrived. He then later went to the heli site and we left to Kota Kinabalu around 12pm. We have to reached the airport by 3pm to check-in. We were given only half an hour to shop at the famous Philippines Market so I just grab few things I see for my family. I just have to come back again coz there’s so many things interesting there.
We were separated at the airport coz only Nasrol and I boarded the 4.10pm flight while the others board the 4.20pm ones. Touch down safe and sound at KLIA around 7.50pm due to transit stop at Labuan. I was drop dead tired and immediately feel unwell at KLIA. Luckily that was it, I'm ok the next day.
Ok I’m done with this Banggi thing. Oh not yet, need to upload the photos. Facing hard times to pick the best ones coz everything got stories behind. Duh….
